At I am shooting portraits, it’s all about capturing unique, warm and characterful portraits. What once started as the work of one photographer has now become a business run by Esperanza and Daphne.
From the Netherlands and Australia, we share the same passion and recognisable style. Daphne photographs and edits from Australia, while Esperanza works from the Netherlands. Together, we make sure the familiar look of I am shooting portraits is preserved, wherever in the world you step in front of our lens.
To us, every portrait is a work of art in its own right. During a photoshoot, we want to offer you a special perspective on yourself or your children through our lens. Our style is characterised by a dark background, warm and timeless images, and above all, eyes that truly stand out from the photograph.
A beautiful portrait doesn’t start with the camera for us, but with how you feel. That’s why we take the time during every shoot to make sure you feel completely at ease. No forced poses, just space to be yourself.
We also pay close attention to every image after the photoshoot. The photos are carefully edited with an eye for detail to create that distinctive I am shooting portraits look.
Because it’s precisely when you feel comfortable and can be yourself that portraits emerge which are not only beautiful to look at, but also truly show something of who you are.

Hi! I’M ESPERANZA
In 2021, I started I am shooting portraits out of my love for portrait photography and my desire to capture people in an authentic and characterful way. Children, teenagers or adults: for me, every shoot is about capturing who someone truly is.
What started as my own photographic adventure has grown into something I now love doing together with Daphne. Since 2025, she has been part of I am shooting portraits, and we share the same passion, style and vision.
From the Netherlands and Australia, together we create the distinctive portraits of I am shooting portraits: warm, authentic and full of character.

HI! I’M DAPHNE
My creative background is in interior styling, but in 2025 an unexpected new passion emerged when Esperanza introduced me to the world of I am shooting portraits.
What started with watching, learning and photographing together grew into something I truly enjoy. I am now part of I am shooting portraits, sharing Esperanza’s love for authentic, characterful portraits.
From Melbourne, I’m continuing this adventure and love capturing children, families and special moments.
