Hello! How lovely that you’ve stopped by my website! My name is Esperanza, and I’d love to tell you a little more about myself and my passion for photography. I’m a 39-year-old mother of two beautiful girls from the charming town of Montfoort, and I absolutely love photography. In everyday life, I’m busy with family, friends, running my business, fitness, running and weekend getaways to fun, special hotspots.
THE START
How it all began...
Creativity has been part of me since childhood. I always said I wanted to do something involving drawing, and I followed that path. I studied advertising and worked at advertising agencies, which eventually led to the launch of Moments. I took lots of photos while travelling. In fact, my love of photography had quietly been there all along.
When I bought a good camera for taking product photos, I secretly took it home to photograph my girls. That’s when I realised how much I enjoyed taking portraits and really looking for faces. I started practising and experimenting a lot. After posting my photos on Instagram, I soon began receiving requests for portrait photos. That’s how I am shooting portraits got started, and I enjoy my work every day!
MY PORTRAITS
Every portrait is a painting
For me, taking photos means meeting wonderful people and hearing new stories. I photograph lots of children, and no shoot is ever the same. One child may be very hyperactive and difficult to capture. Another may be shy and need real encouragement to come out of their shell. Sometimes it takes half an hour to make a child laugh. Every time, it’s a surprise who I’ll be photographing! As well as photographing children, I also photograph adults and families. I create dark portraits and use warm colours to create a touch of magic. My work doesn’t stop when the photos are taken. I also edit them beautifully for you. Thanks to my graphic design background, I have plenty of experience in this. I devote a great deal of attention to creativity in your portrait, so it becomes a small work of art. Every portrait is a painting in its own right.
Eyes that speak...
I love letting eyes do the talking, because they tell a story and are unique. In a child’s eyes, you can see whether they’re mischievous or perhaps a little shy. I love that, and the art is capturing that story in a photograph! Parents often tell me that their child looks exactly as they know them. I couldn’t receive a greater compliment! My number-one priority when creating a great portrait? Making sure you feel at ease. That’s always the most important thing to me, because when you’re relaxed, I take the most beautiful photos.
